Despite the current uncertain economic environment Estonia reached a very impressive 7.1% real GDP growth in 2007 according to figures from the Bank of Estonia.
Forecasts for economic growth of 4.3% in 2008, and 5.7% for 2009 are much higher than the EU average figures of 2.2% in 2007 and forecasts of around 2.1% for 2008. In contrast the bank of England forecasts 1.6% economic growth for 2008 and 1.8% in 2009, which follows 2.8% in 2007. Clearly demonstrating the economic growth and affluence of this emerging country is still very high.
